Caught up again

with stuff like filing income taxes, more appointments, work, household stuff. So now I can READ! Yahoo!!!

Actually last night, I read a book through in one sitting. (Well, in between the "mooommmm, I need...." from Kim). It was pretty thought provoking.

   

 Butterfly's Child by Angela Davis -Gardner delves into the story of the plot of the Puccini's opera Madame Butterfly. Don't let this stop you though. I had never seen the opera and you don't need to be familiar with it to enjoy this book. It's a story of what makes a family and about fitting in. The story begins in the late 1800s in Nagasaki. If you like historical fiction this will also fit the bill.

what the heck?

I have been unable to login to my blog for weeks! It took forever just now to finally load to make this post. How aggravating! And I can't seem to add images tonight. Whew...... ok!

I have been super busy with life over the past month. Changed jobs, had steroid shots in my back,  took my daughter to a ton of appointments and missed out on my reading time. I did read the latest JD Robb book. Indulgence in Death and placed a hold for the upcoming Treachery in Death coming in Feb. I love Eve, Roarke, Peabody and the rest! I did find myself wishing that more of Indulgence was set in Ireland. I have a weakness for Nora Roberts Ireland "Born In" trilogy. Maybe it's time to re-read those. :-)

I also just read Tami Hoag's Secrets to the Grave. I had read her first in this series, Deeper than the Dead. I think they are pretty good reads. I do like that she writes short chapters with good tags that lead you to want to start the next chapter. I kept on reading "just one more" until it was done. I had a hard time remembering the characters from the first book and it was annoying waiting for things to fall in place as I slowly remembered. I usually hate it when in a series, the author re-tells too much of the last book but in this case I wanted a little help!

Things are settling down a little now and hopefully that means more time for reading!
